Phoebe is almost 5 months old now, she is amazing, she's fun, playful, and very social. We love that Morgan is not allergic to her, it means that she can cuddle with us at night, unfortunately it also means that she may wake you up at 5am by pouncing on your head. All in all she is simply fantastic. She gets along with the other pets, and brings a unique personality to the group.

Kittens!!
Morgan and I have wanted a kitten for a while now, but because of Morgan’s allergies, we have deferred and been resigned to the fact that we may never own a cat. Recently we found out that there is a type of cat that is hypoallergenic, and it’s not one of those freaky ones with no hair, it’s beautiful and looks like a little leopard. As a matter of fact the kind of cat we’ve been looking at is a Bengal, and it is actually a descendent of the Asian Leopard Cat. The reason the Bengal is hypoallergenic is that its “big cat” ancestor doesn’t have the same enzyme in it’s saliva that the domestic cat does, and therefore doesn’t have the same allergens. Anyways the long and the short of it is that after many e-mails and phone calls to catteries…. we’re getting a Bengal kitten!!! We know we’re getting a little girl, and we’re getting her towards the end of April. We don’t have exact dates because we have to wait till she has weaned from her mother. But we’re very excited none the less. I posted 3 pictures, Mom, Dad and the Kittens. We aren’t exactly sure which one is ours, but we have the second pick of females, we’re waiting to pick until they are a little bit bigger so their markings will be more distinct and defined. Yay for Kittens!!!!

Winter Break
I have to say that I've really enjoyed my time away from the PA program. It was the most stressful semester yet, and there were times when I wasn't sure I would make it through, but by Gods grace, and by my husbands patience I seem to have made it through (and with better grades then expected).
Normally holidays bring their own kind of stress, but after all the stress of school, preparing for the holidays didn’t feel the least bit stressful. Decorating a tree, making holiday cookies, even shopping was enjoyable. I am really blessed to have had time with my family, and with Morgan’s family. This break was exactly what I needed. Now that I’m back in school I think the stress will return eventually, but with luck it won’t be the same level because the end is in sight. If I can make it through April then I will be done with the academics, and on to my clinical rotations which is what I’m really looking forward to. 2008 seems like it will be an interesting year to say the least.

EXCERPTS FROM A CAT'S DIARY
DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.
DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair...must try this on their bed.
DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was...Hmmm. Not working according to plan.
DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid? My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth.
DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the foul odor of the glass tubes they call "beer." More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

Spinning Silhouette Illusion
This is amazing, you have to check it out. It took me a minute staring at the figure before she changed direction, but it's very cool when it happens.
At first glance, the silhouette is spinning clockwise, but you can reverse the spinning.
Here are some hints to help make it happen:
Try looking down at the shadow, keep your eyes there for some seconds and then slowly move your eyes upward.
Try looking at different parts of the figure. Dont stare at her, keep your eyes moving up and down.
Or Focus on her feet, when she turns clockwise she has the right foot up.. when counter-clockwise its the left foot.. just tell yourself which foot is up and she will turn in that direction..
